Stacking rainbow

GRIMM'S Large Rainbow (12-piece)

Twelve lime-wood arches for stacking, tunnels, ball runs and small worlds, in Rainbow, Pastel, Monochrome or Natural.

Why we picked it: The open-ended toy that stays in use the longest. Toddlers stack and sort the arches by size, and older kids build tunnels, ball runs and small worlds with them. Natural and Monochrome suit a calm, neutral room. If you're unsure, start with the 6-piece before committing to the 12-piece.
Skip it if: You expect it to 'do' something: it is purely open-ended, and kids who like cause-and-effect toys may ignore it at first. Stock comes and goes at Malaysian stockists; check before you set your heart on a colour.
